OpenTech Makes Security Monitoring Affordable for Storage Operators of All Sizes

Phoenix, AZ – OpenTech Alliance, the leading developer of innovative smart-connected technology solutions for the self storage industry, announced it has expanded its INSOMNIAC® SmartEye security services with a new highly-affordable self-monitoring package ideally suited to the needs of small and mid-sized operators and property locations that need to enhance their security. With monthly monitoring costs starting at just $25 per monitored camera, storage operators are now able to protect their employees, tenants and assets with the help of remote video access and active incident alerts.

Operators can rely on SmartEye’s advanced technology to capture and alert you to incidents at your property, so you can respond in real-time in the event of theft, vandalism, loitering, or any other emergency or destructive situation. With the help of a smart video hub, SmartEye connects your existing camera system to the OpenTech IoE (Internet of Everything). From the IoE Control Center dashboard, you can quickly verify all your equipment is active and online, and see all incidents recorded in the past 24 hours. The system also enables you to set text and email alerts to receive notifications when activity is detected on a camera, or if a camera or video hub goes offline. The IoE Control Center maintains an easy-to-navigate catalog of all incidents recorded at your property so you can sort, filter and search your video footage by camera location, day, time, or access event (if associated with your keypads) at any time.

“We have seen an increased demand from operators across a range of portfolios for advanced security solutions as they adopt new business models and face heightened security concerns,” said Jon Loftin, IoE Product Owner. “With SmartEye, storage operators can provide proactive protection for their assets, working towards a prevention model that helps stop security incidents in progress. SmartEye also helps offer a clear picture of activity on a property. When the primary systems that protect your property are connected and working together – cameras, access control, unit alarms, etc. – you can begin to connect the dots to uncover what happens when you’re not there.”

The low-cost security service gives operators the flexibility to rapidly roll out or upgrade property security, with the option to graduate to a more advanced version of the service if necessary. The enhanced service, SmartEye + VST, takes the pressure off your internal team with full-service, interactive live monitoring. Powered by a trained Virtual Security Team (VST) to immediately intervene, the enhanced service includes live incident monitoring, interactive audio messaging, and emergency response triggers to detect, intercept and alert authorities to onsite threats. Every incident is verified and tagged to reduce false alarms, with artificial intelligence and machine learning to reduce man-hours. Scheduled audio messages can also be implemented to remind tenants of facility hours or other property guidelines. With SmartEye + VST, operators can ensure tenant and employee safety, reduce property damage and lower insurance for a fraction of the cost of onsite guards.

SmartEye services leverage your existing security cameras and connectivity infrastructure to make the solution cost-effective and easy to implement. Purchase of a SmartEye Video Hub and IoE Gateway is required.* Get started with SmartEye today with plans as low as $25/month (available as a month-to-month or annual plan).
