PHOENIX, Arizona – April 7th, 2015 – Today from the ISS World Expo in Las Vegas, OpenTech Alliance Inc, announced the Self Storage Management Group of California (SSMG)reported ongoing statistics on the success of their kiosk and call center technology implemented at South Congress Storage in Austin, Texas. The studies demonstrated how automation is instrumental to bottom-line cash flow and increased property value.
Mark Yandow, Partner at SSMG, “Adding the kiosk and call center attributed to a 35% increase in property valuation within 8 months of installing the bundle of automated services.” What’s even more mind-blowing is that the move also increased the facilities net income by more than $6,000.00 per month within the first year, while occupancy rose 11%. Today, the property is yielding over $12,000.00 in added monthly revenue since the conversion and store managers are producing at higher levels than ever before.
The entire transformation however, can be credited to more than the implementation of self-service technology. Yandow, a self-storage owner, developer and 30 year industry icon, created an analytical system that assesses the integrated operation of a storage facility. “The grading system allows storage facilities to measure their base, develop new startup strategies, and establish an achievable income potential by practicing a number of repeatable business processes. We started with a limited cash flow, but the kiosk and call center were purchased and deployed before closing on the property by carefully redistributing expenses,” added Yandow.
SSMG has conducted case studies on over 14 properties spanning from 2007 to present that document successes in optimized facility performance. His studies share data on a number of performance measures both before and after using automated business processes and self-service tools.
On April 1st, 2015, the SBOA hosted a roundtable workshop with Robert Chiti (President and CEO at OpenTech) and Mark Yandow to present detailed insights and statistics on his portfolio of properties.
