PHOENIX, Arizona – October 20th, 2012 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced the progression of a 2 year development with American Self Storage to meet the demands of the modern self storage business. Headquartered in Santa Barbara California, The Laurel Company is a property management firm that that operates 10 self storage facilities under the American Self Storage brand. In the face of a prolonged recession, American Self Storage continues to persevere while wading through the effects of a municipal bankruptcy in Stockton (California).
The mission to modernize facilities began in 2009 with the installation of their first INSOMNIAC® Kiosk, while further implementations of the INSOMNIAC Live! Call Center followed. A two-punch solution that makes use of a self service kiosk and centralized call center, the INSOMNIAC AssistantManager is an effective combination that supports facility managers to rent more units and service customers.
Effectively, self service automation and OpenTech Storage Counselors are strategically empowered to assist managers during the work day, after business hours and on Sundays & Holidays when the office is closed. As a back-up, the call center fields roll over calls made direct to the facility, while at the same time, providing personal assistance at the kiosk. The strategy ensures that customers are assisted immediately on inquiries, rentals and with transactions at both consumer touch points.

Over the past two years, the INSOMNIAC AssistantManager solution, has converted over 155 new rentals in Stockton alone.
