PHOENIX, Arizona – February 16th, 2013 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced today that Storage World, a leading self storage operator in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has successfully implemented OpenTech’s INSOMNIAC™ AssistantManager throughout their entire portfolio of 9 facilities. The AssistantManager is a self storage solution that incorporates the use of onsite self service kiosks along with an integrated offsite sales and service call center.
The transformation began over 5 years ago on December 25th with a mission to make Storage World facilities the most convenient and customer friendly properties on the block. On that Christmas day, Storage World Owner David Greth was not surprised to see his first self service kiosk rental completed while the office was closed. “Our mission to automate our facilities is going according to plan,” stated Greth.
At this time, 5 kiosks are working double-duty to rent units and collect payments for all 9 locations. This “hub and spoke” approach means consumers can view unit availability, compare prices, rent units and make a payment across multiple facilities from one location. Today, Storage World operates a “hub & spoke” model with 9 facilities, 5 full-time managers, 5 kiosks and OpenTech’s team of remote Storage Counselors. The INSOMNIAC Live! Call Center was implemented to improve manager productivity by taking over the phones to collect payments and reserve units that can be completed by the manager at the office or anytime at the kiosk. OpenTech Storage Counselors have access to units and tenant accounts that provides Storage World with first call resolution, day & night. INSOMNIAC Kiosks are used as an onsite self service touch point for customer rentals and payments 24-7.
“Kiosks are a must; as most customers like dealing with computers even when our doors are open. In addition, our remote call center has certainly improved manager efficiencies by cutting down on time spent chasing voicemails for payments and potential rentals,” added Greth. In 2012 alone, the INSOMNIAC AssistantManager yielded Storage World a total of 468 rentals and reservations completed.
