OpenTech to Unveil ILock at SSA Show in Caesars Palace

PHOENIX, Arizona – August 17th, 2012, OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced it has partnered with PTI Security Systems Inc. to be the exclusive distributor for their electronic unit door locking system – now branded the INSOMNIAC® ILock. The strategic partnership combines PTI’s quality manufacturing capabilities with OpenTech’s sales and service infrastructure. The INSOMNIAC ILock will be formally unveiled at the upcoming SSA Fall Conference & Trade Show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, September 5-7 (booths 414-420).

The wireless, battery powered ILock secures the door on individual self storage units by preventing movement of the hasp to the open position. The multi-talented technology performs much like an on-site security guard to the extent that the system is nicknamed MAXX. Megan’s little brother, MAXX, provides an added level of security that helps self storage operators differentiate their facility and increase rental rates. He also provides individualized unit security & access, automated overlocking and protection for vacant units.

Over the past two years, the system has established a proven track record of providing operators with an impressive return on their investment. Chris Aiken, owner of Safe Place Self Storage in New Hampshire, gives the ILock high marks. “The decision to install a security & access system, inside the gate, has been a game-changer due to our business model,” stated Chris. “Simply put, our old school manual tasks related to security, access and facility management on premise has been replaced with modern automation. The INSOMNIAC ILock system is ideal for traditional facilities and will become a true lifesaver to people with remote sites,” added Aiken.

Bill Schubert, owner of My Stuff Storage in Clinton Tennessee, takes pride in offering the most technologically advanced, secure & customer friendly facility in the region. The all indoor storage complex was built to run exclusively with the ILock. “My Stuff Storage operates using self service automation and minimal staff,” stated Schubert. “The INSOMNIAC kiosk and ILock limits our payroll expense to 2-4 man hours per week and offers our customers a secure experience when renting and making payments. The technology allows us to operate 365 days a year, without being in the office all the time. And, if an existing tenant becomes past due, they cannot just tailgate into the facility, gain access to their unit and vacate the property with an outstanding account balance. By leveraging technology, My Stuff Storage is on track to become profitable within our first year of operation,” added Schubert.
