August 28, 2019 – Phoenix, AZ. OpenTech Alliance, the leading developer of innovative smart-connected technology solutions for the self storage industry, announced they will showcase a new wired alarm mux (code-named A96) at Booth #318 at the 2019 Self Storage Association Fall Conference and Trade Show on September 4th and 5th. The A96 is currently being tested and scheduled for release in Q4. It is anticipated to range in price from $499 to $799 and can be configured in either 48 or 96 channel mode. The company will begin taking orders for the new product in September.
The A96 works in conjunction with magnetic contact sensors mounted on the rollup or swing door of individual units, and the INSOMNIAC CIA gateway. The A96 will have the capacity to monitor up to 96 hardwired unit sensors. Using the centralized intelligent control provided through the OpenTech IoE Control Center, operators can program email or text alerts as well as sound sirens on the property when a unit is opened when the tenant has not entered the property.
The circuit board was designed to make it simple and easy to replace older access control systems. The A96 circuit board can be installed into existing door alarm enclosures and utilizes existing alarm switches/magnets, terminal connectors, power sources, and wiring.
“The A96 allows operators with older, PC-based access control systems to upgrade to the latest technology – and take advantage of the increased control, reliability and operational insights it affords – without the need to overhaul all system components,” stated Jon Loftin, OpenTech VP, and IoE Product Owner. “OpenTech was built on the philosophy of an open infrastructure that doesn’t restrict self storage operators exclusively to our technology. We work with our operators to find solutions that work for them – this is one more example of that philosophy in action.”
The A96 will be the eighth integration supported by the OpenTech IoE platform, and will only be available as an add-on product for OpenTech INSOMNIAC CIA customers. Other integrations currently available include: INSOMNIAC CIA (Access control); INSOMNIAC SmartEye (Security monitoring); INSOMNIAC SmartDoor (Office analytics); INSOMNIAC SmartGate (Gate analytics); HVAC; Call Center; and an Alexa skill.
