PHOENIX, Arizona – December 25th, 2014 –OpenTech Alliance Inc. announced today that the company has donated $15,000 to the (SSAF) Self Storage Association Foundation Scholarship program to enrich the lives of SSA members nationally. Five years and going strong, the SSA Foundation Scholarship is making a difference in many young students’ lives with a program that is dedicated to give back to the industry.
Mike Scanlon, SSA President and CEO said, “OpenTech is one of the most respected companies in self-storage and with their help, the SSA is able to profoundly help our members. There is no better way to give back to our great industry than by promoting the future of these students.”
Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “Our team works closely with thousands of self storage managers and we have heard about their dreams for their kid’s future. We felt a great way to give back to the self storage managers would be to support them in their efforts to send their kids to a four-year institution, community college or vocational trade school. The SSAF Scholarship will help many students with ties to self-storage; realize their full potential as leaders in their chosen professions.”
The foundation provides need-based scholarship awards of up to $5,000 towards postsecondary education (tuition and fees). Recipients must be employees (or their children / grand-children) of companies which are direct members of the Self Storage Association (national).
