PHOENIX, Arizona – March 31st, 2015 – OpenTech Alliance Inc, announced today that the INSOMNIAC® brand of Self-Storage Kiosks has completed integration to Canada’s proprietary debit payment solution, Interac. With many kiosks installed north of the U.S. border, the company’s self-service platform has already seen great successes in Canada. Until today however, OpenTech kiosks would only accept credit cards, Canadian currency and Checks.

When Canadian consumers reach for a payment card in their wallets, Stats Canada reports that 56% of the time they choose Interac Debit (when compared against all other credit card brands combined). Nilson and Federal Reserve reports indicate that international debit cards represent the fastest growing market in preferred consumer payment type since 2009 (boasting the lowest ratio of fraud rates over the last 5 years globally). In contrast, the slowest market growth overall is occurring within the U.S. credit card sector.
