OpenTech announces a new release of the INSOMNIAC self storage software that powers its line of full-service kiosks. The software upgrade gives facilities greater control over automated unit rentals and simplifies self-service transactions for storage customers.

OpenTech Alliance announced a new generation of INSOMNIAC® kiosks to expand its robust line of industry leading self-service solutions. The 30 series includes four new models — the 230, 231, 330 and 331 — all boasting built-in LED lighting and streamlined hardware. And with their slimmed-down design, 30 series kiosks are available at a lower price point than previous full-size models.

OpenTech Alliance announced self storage tenants used touchless access technology to open facility gates and doors over 14 million times in 2021. Tenants can use the Storage Genie tenant mobile app, built-into the company’s INSOMNIAC CIA access control solution, to enter or exit a property or building securely with their access credentials without touching their phone. Spikes in adoption may speak to a shift in tenant expectations.
