Store Managers Collect $21,000 in Past Due Rent Without Making A Single Phone Call

PHOENIX, Arizona – March 20th, 2015 – OpenTech Alliance Inc, announced today that Value Store It reported an effortless reduction in both manager effort and accounts receivable of over $21,000.  The decrease in receivables collected was over the span of 5 months since activating XpressCollect; OpenTech’s innovative collections product.

Based in Miami Florida, Value Store It is a privately owned self-storage company, with 12 locations throughout Connecticut, New York, and Florida.  Bryan Lekas, Vice President at Value Store It Management, LLC said, “The collection tool is automatically processing over $4,200.00 per month in past due rent and continues to improve our cash flow.”

XpressCollect automates the entire collection process and frees up managers to focus on more valuable tasks.   Unlike other collections services on the market, the system does not require the manager to manually send out emails or texts, eliminating the chance for error.  At $29 per month, the service is a fraction of the cost of do-it-yourself collections and tenants appreciate a friendly text reminder as opposed to the annoying robo calls.

The concept has become a big favorite of Value Store It managers for a number of reasons.  The task of making multiple monthly calls, sending various monthly emails, and taking on the follow-up routine that follows, has been largely eliminated.  “Our store managers love the value of automated collections because it is seamless and they do not have to physically do anything to maintain the process daily, monthly, ever.  Once setup, the collections process is easy, fool proof, and it never stops,” added Lekas.

Time savings was redirected towards manager performance measures to increase both sales and service at the same time.  Lekas also noted that their facilities are in some of the nation’s most competitive markets and the addition of the service has given them an added competitive advantage.  Lekas said, “We are also better positioned to maintain relationships with tenants.  Managers are now free from dealing with a majority of the awkward interactions connected with collecting payments and assessing late fees.”

Best of all, the service does not require operators to surrender their phone number or route your calls thru a virtual tracking number.  Managers do not have to login to a different system to use it, because it integrates seamlessly with the operators property management system.  XpressCollect is a standalone solution, but can be integrated with OpenTech’s call center and XpressPay service.

Why We Do What We Do:  Every day, we connect thousands of tenants with storage companies around the world.  With over 4,000 daily transactions, our automated products and services helped our clients move-in over 50,000 new tenants in 2014, generating over 50 million dollars in new sales revenue alone.  OpenTech, Making Self-Storage Easier, So More People will Use It.  For additional information, please click: OpenTechAlliance.com or call an OpenTech Business Development Manager at (602) 749-9370.

OpenTech and Bellhops Partner to Create New Revenue Stream for Storage Owners

PHOENIX, Arizona – March 11th, 2015OpenTech Alliance, Inc., one of the self-storage industry’s most innovative companies and Bellhops, a Chattanooga, TN based startup, announced today that they have partnered to provide storage owners with a revenue generating service they can offer their customers. The two companies are working together to make Bellhops on-demand moving service available thru all of OpenTech’s solutions.

A new type of moving company has arrived, one that targets projects that are too small for the big moving firms. Bellhops are targeting storage tenants, people who simply need an extra set of hands to complete their do-it-yourself storage tasks. Unlike arranging service from a brick-and-mortar office or truck fleet, this unique launch compares to several of the growing technology and apps-based businesses.

The Bellhop service provides self-storage owners with an opportunity to share in the revenue on every transaction, while the Bellhops do the heavy lifting. Chris Cowart, VP of Business Development at Bellhops said, “We needed a way to configure our software with individual self-storage companies. By programming with OpenTech’s Self Storage Cloud service, we are able to program on-demand moving support for the storage industry.”

Do You Need Help Moving Stuff? With the new partnership, that question may be automatically prompted to tenants at move-in, move-out or when making monthly transactions. OpenTech innovation will provide storage owners with the capacity to integrate this extra special customer courtesy into all their customer touch points. Exclusive to the OpenTech portfolio of customers, the platform will function though the INSOMNIAC line of self-service kiosks, call center and online rental software securely and in real-time.

Operating out of 130 U.S. cities, Bellhops employs a real-time software network to accept customer move-time requests while simultaneously offering those jobs via-app to a contract labor pool of over 8,000 trained and insured college students (Bellhops). The tech-enabled moving company is backed by California and New York investors credited with supporting PayPal, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Zappos and SnapChat at startup.

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “I see the Bellhops model similar to the Uber model and we all know how wildly successful that has been. The team at Bellhops is well capitalized and they are very focused on ensuring the highest level of customer service. Together we will be bringing another new innovative revenue stream to self storage operators and maybe even more importantly a few spare hands to their tenants. Our mission is to make using self storage effortless, so providing tenants with a simple way to get some help moving fits perfectly.”

Why We Do What We Do:  Every day, we connect thousands of tenants with storage companies around the world.  With over 4,000 daily transactions, our automated products and services helped our clients move-in over 50,000 new tenants, generating over 50 million dollars in revenue alone in 2014.  OpenTech, Making Self-Storage Easier, So More People will Use It.  For additional information, please click: OpenTechAlliance.com or call an OpenTech Business Development Manager at (602) 749-9370.

Self-Storage Kiosk Sales Jump 53% in 2014

PHOENIX, Arizona – February 5th, 2015 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced today that the INSOMNIAC™ family of self-storage kiosks achieved another year of impressive growth, with revenue from kiosks sales and related services exceeding $4 million in 2014.  The number of kiosks delivered rose by 53 percent over 2013, and reflected orders largely from existing clients, new independent storage owners and self storage management groups.

The INSOMNIAC self-service kiosks make the storage process easy, effortless and offer immediate help with a live storage professional from their 2-way video service.  In 2014, OpenTech published a number of success stories that demonstrated the dramatic impact kiosks are having on the financial performance of self-storage businesses:

JFK Mini Storage, in Macon Georgia, reported an average increase in net operating revenue of over $3,500 monthly since the kiosk made its debut.  The property owners originally installed the kiosk to reduce labor and spend more time away from the business in the evenings and on the weekends.

Access Self Storage, in Oakland New Jersey, installed the kiosk in January of 2014 to help managers with payments and add a layer of customer convenience that was missing.  The following month, owners reported an all-time high in unit rentals over the course of a month.  After averaging approximately 8 new rentals monthly, the property completed 14 rentals through the kiosk alone in February of 2014.

Red Dot Storage continues to add kiosks to every new property based on a management philosophy to leverage technology that delivers the highest level of customer service and convenience, while controlling costs and increasing profits.  In turn, their portfolio of properties reported an increase in occupancy between 5% – 25% at every location, while decreasing operating expenses as much as 20% after installing the kiosk.

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “We are excited to report that our current customers want more kiosks and we are welcoming many new customers each month.  Storage facilities around the country are increasingly using onsite kiosks because consumers are embracing them with no hesitation.  Today’s high-tech society has been trained to help themselves thru the use of all the technology they come into contact with everyday.”

Top Operators Select OpenTech Call Center to Outperform Competition

PHOENIX, Arizona – January 27th, 2015 – Today, OpenTech Alliance, Inc., announced that INSOMNIAC Live!™ has been chosen as the call center of choice by a number of leading self-storage operators including; Securlock Storage Centers, Assured Self Storage, The Storage Center, Guardian Storage, and Personal Mini Storage.

Family owned and operated for over thirty years, Personal Mini Storage manages a portfolio of 36 self-storage properties across the state of Florida.  In 2014, the company decided to develop the call center concept for a number of strategic reasons.  Increased NOI, property valuation and maximizing on their ability to rent units topped the list.  Still, the company approached the idea of handing over their calls to an outsider with caution and pushback from several store managers.

“Our investment in the early stages uncovered a lot.  We started on a trial basis with only 3 of our stores using the call center at OpenTech.  Within a month, we were impressed to see a substantial increase in the number of calls that were being answered and tracked.  We knew immediately that our managers were missing calls for a number of reasonable explanations,” said Joel Patterson, Operations Manager at Personal Mini Storage.

Sixty days later, the continued effect led the company to add call center services to every facility in its portfolio.  Today, managers still have the first opportunity to answer every call, but when busy or unable to pickup promptly, Storage Counselors at OpenTech take over to ensure that a call is never missed.  Patterson said the compromise with store managers to use the rollover service has driven a substantial influx in reservations and leads to their sales funnel.

Another big part of adding the call center service was to gain a level playing field with all of the REITs located in their 36 unique marketplaces.  “Like any other independent self-storage operator, we battle with the REITs on an hourly basis.  And all of the public owned storage companies use their own 24-7 call centers for a reason… to gain an edge on the private owners.  We know that by doing the same, we have the ability to outperform all of the competitors in our Florida cities,” added Patterson.

Blair Valk, Vice President of Operations at Assured Self Storage also came to OpenTech with the need to increase telephone sales performance and the lead tracking process for store managers.  The impact of the call center was a success, “Over the course of a year, the OpenTech call center contributed to an increase in occupancy from 71% to 82%, an all-time high,” said Valk.

Companies are also selecting call center vendors based on their ability to deliver deeper customer engagement and service capabilities like; automated text collections, express payments, onsite kiosks, online rentals, online chat, and mobile applications. OpenTech President and CEO, Robert Chiti predicts that over the next five years, storage vendors that can offer multiple capabilities and value-added technology solutions will have an edge over those that offer less, and largely compete on cost alone.

OpenTech and Storage Door Curtains Partner to Create New Revenue Stream for Operators

PHOENIX, Arizona – December 12th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. and Storage Door Curtains today announced the completed product integration between Storage Door Curtains’ wireless Weather Barrier Storage Door curtain sensors and OpenTech’s INSOMNIAC Self Storage Network. The effort provided Storage Door Curtains with the capacity to integrate their door curtain electric monitoring software securely and in real time with all major self-storage management software systems. The integration allows self storage operators the ability to create a new revenue stream by utilizing the door curtain monitoring capabilities.  With the integrated services self storage operators will be able to assess “daily energy loss fees” to tenants that leave curtains doors open to climate controlled units.

The curtain highlights an eight-layer, airtight, waterproof; floor-to-ceiling barrier with built-in electronic sensors and a starting R-12 insulation rating that exceeds newly implemented 2012 Energy Code Specifications.  By programming to OpenTech’s OpenAPI the Storage Door Curtains’ monitoring software is able to utilize built-in electric door curtain sensors to insure the proper closing of barriers and assess daily energy loss fees on individual units to tenants that fail to close the door curtain in their unit.

With numerous financial incentives available from federal, state, utility companies and local agencies, operators can see a reduction of energy costs by up to 70% and implement an automated “green-workplace” practice to recoup lost energy revenue.

James Ciaciuch, CEO at Storage Door Curtains said, “There are a vast number of operators who want to better control the temperature on exterior units.  We needed a way to configure our software with individual self-storage units to monitor proper door curtain closings to save energy and assess energy loss fees. The partnership with OpenTech will allow us to simultaneously reduce the amount of energy lost or wasted and give self storage owners a substantial source of new monthly income.”

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “We are excited to be working with such an innovative company.  James and his team are forward thinkers and the investment they have made in developing this new and valuable product is impressive.  Talking to James reminds me of when OpenTech launched the industry’s first self service solution.  We have a real soft spot for entrepreneurs like James and are happy to be partnering with him to bring a new revenue stream to self storage operators.”

Kiosk Responsible for 99% Occupancy at 400 Unit Storage Facility

Kiosk Responsible for 99% Occupancy at 400 Unit Storage Facility

PHOENIX, Arizona – November 21st, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced today that Champlain Valley Self Storage continues to maintain an occupancy rate of over 99% since installing their INSOMNIAC™ kiosk. Managing Members Brett Clace and Steve Kolvoord put the automated business model into practice in November of 2012 as a strategy to drive revenue and better compete by being the first in their marketplace to offer tenants 24 hour service.

“We purchased both the 177 unit facility and kiosk two years ago. Today, at nearly 400 units, our facility continues to grow and the kiosk alone keeps us at 100% occupied on a regular basis. Consumer barriers to doing business with our facility after hours, or when a manager is not available were nearly eliminated the day we opened. The kiosk is a great benefit to our tenants,” said Brett.

Current statistics show that over 30% of all new move-ins happen outside normal 9-5 business hours at Champlain. “Our kiosk reports demonstrate that incremental rental opportunities would be missed if we did not have the kiosk,” added Brett.

Located near the town of Essex Junction in Vermont, Clace & Kolvoord oversee the facility on a part time basis. The kiosk acts as a full-time manager while the two focus on other businesses and projects related to the continued expansion of units. The two have weighed the return of investing in the kiosk on reduced labor costs, better operations, more accurate book keeping, improved cash flow and better customer service.

“Sustaining occupancy at 100% is great, but the added win is the $25,000+ we are saving each year on payroll, insurance and benefits. Also, the ROI was instant and with the kiosk, we are not tied down to days, nights and weekends in the storage office. The aftereffect is a huge benefit for us,” said Steve.

OpenTech Launches New Call Center Tool – ICARE About Quality

PHOENIX, Arizona – September 10th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced today, from the SSA Conference and Tradeshow in Las Vegas, the launch of their new internally developed call review and rating tool – ICARE About Quality. The investment made by OpenTech to develop this technology further demonstrates their commitment to being the BEST call center in the self storage industry.

ICARE, a free tool for all INSOMNIAC Live! customers, was designed to provide self storage managers and call center QA staff, Team Leaders and Self Storage Counselors themselves a simple way to listen to call recordings and provide valuable feedback about how calls are handled. Calls are rated based on the adherence to call flow and behavior of the Storage Counselor. The results of the ratings are used by OpenTech’s training department to tailor coaching sessions for individual Storage Counselors in order to help them rent more units and service tenants with the highest level of quality.

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “Being the best at something is never easy. After 5 years of operating a call center in the self storage business, one of the most important lessons we have learned is we can never stop improving. With ICARE, we are building upon our transparent culture of proactively seeking input from our customers and using that input to build a better company.”

While OpenTech was founded back in 2003, it continues to be one of the most progressive technology companies in all of self-storage. Chiti attributes the company’s success and growth to one of the company’s core values, “Caring.”

OpenTech Completes Purchase of TXT Collector

OpenTech Completes Purchase of TXT Collector

PHOENIX, Arizona – September 9th, 2014 – Today at the SSA Tradeshow in Las Vegas, OpenTech Alliance, Inc. today announced the completed acquisition of TXT Collector and simultaneous launch of XpressCollect, a new Text Messaging (SMS) Self Storage Cloud service that automates the collection process for self-storage owners. SMS is the latest in technology when sending payment reminders and past due lease notices because most tenants always have their mobile device in hand. At a fraction of the cost of robotic calls or do-it-yourself collections, the solution is already producing a significant lift in call-backs and a dramatic increase in interactive responses for tenant communications.

Jim Mooney, Director of Operations at Devon Self Storage said, “We use XpressCollect because the automation allows us to reach a large number of customers at one time.” Mooney added that texting is also far more considerate to his customers, “Tenants are not always in a place where they can talk by phone, especially during the awkward setting of a collection call. The service lets the tenant control directly how and when the message interaction occurs without feeling hassled or judged during the process.” Tenants make their payment immediately thru the service on their phone or click to call the office to pay. “Managers love it, because they don’t have to waste hours doing something they hate.”

The effect of XpressCollect has been demonstrated to be immediate and easy to measure. Mooney said, “With facilities that span over 15 states, once our managers focused on getting our tenants mobile numbers into SiteLink correctly our conversion rates on collections grew exponentially on a month to month basis and our collection dollars have nearly doubled.” As more managers and owners look for easier solutions to streamline collections, automating accounts payable enables staff to offload manual collection tasks; resulting in improved cash flow at much lower costs than doing it manually.

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “Nobody likes making collection calls and now managers don’t have to. Our plan over the next few months is to invest heavily in development resources to integrate the texting technology into our Self Storage Cloud platform and create several new features that will deliver even more value to self storage managers. Our products have not always made us a manger favorite, kiosk specifically, but we are hoping XpressCollect will reinforce our mission of helping them to be more productive and not trying to take their job.”

OpenTech is offering current customers a FREE trial of XpressCollect until 2015. Starting in 2015 the monthly fee for the service will be $39 for operators that use another OpenTech product or service and $49 for the stand alone service. Visit our website today for details about the service or call 800.481.7459 to get started using XpressCollect so you managers never have to make another collections call!

OpenTech and PTI Australasia Partner to Serve Overseas Markets

OpenTech and PTI Australasia Partner to Serve Overseas Markets

PHOENIX, Arizona/US – August 4th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc., a US based technology company, announced today that it has entered into an international distribution agreement with PTI Australasia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Steel Storage Holdings. The partnership capitalizes on PTI Australasia’s 20 years of experience in the Australia and Asian region supplying access systems to self storage facilities and OpenTech’s 11 years of experience developing its INSOMNIAC self-service kiosk solution. Together the companies will bring the latest in automation to the Australasian, Southeast Asia and Middle East markets.

PTI Australasia will sell and service a line of INSOMNIAC self-service kiosks designed specifically for the respective markets. The self-service kiosk allows customers to rent a self-storage space, make a rental payment (with cash, or credit card), purchase a lock, check their balance, and purchase tenant insurance while the on-site management is not available or the office is closed. The INSOMNIAC software integrates with leading property management software such as SiteLink.

Steel Storage Executive Chairman, Jon Perrins, the driving force behind the deal, said “We have been watching OpenTech for several years, they have continuously improved their products by listening to their customer base, but what they were missing in our part of the world was local expertise, which is where PTI Australasia comes in. We are excited to be partnering with them on this side of the globe and feel our customers will be too.”

Mike Connolly, Executive Vice President of Business Development for OpenTech Alliance, Inc. says investing in the Australasian, Middle East and Southeast Asian market is as part of the companies’ long term global strategy. “Prior to the recession in 2009 we installed a few kiosks in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, but we were not able to consistently provide the same high level of customer service we offer in North America, so we retreated. As a result of the success we are having again domestically and the confidence we have in the PTI Australasia organization, we are ready to take another run at expanding our footprint globally.”

About OpenTech Alliance, Inc.: Celebrating over a decade of service to the Self Storage industry, OpenTech provides solutions that connect storage owners with new and existing tenants through their automated kiosks, call center services, and online rental solutions. The company’s solutions increase revenues, reduce operating costs, and improve customer convenience. Tax Savings Announcement

BIG Deductions for Self Storage

PHOENIX, Arizona – August, 1st, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. announced INSOMNIAC™ Kiosks and the automated ILock Access & Security system both qualify for additional tax deductions under Section 179. Section 179 is an IRS tax code that allows you to deduct the purchase or lease price of technology (hardware and software) either paid for or financed during 2014. The allowance is also very useful when you are using cost segregation and the property you are using is not “original use”.

One of the biggest deductions available to small businesses (100% first year write-off), the Tax Act effectively reduces the cost of a purchase by 35%. If you have been thinking about buying a kiosk or automated access / security equipment for your storage facility, now may be the time to act and get a great tax deduction.

INSOMNIAC Kiosks range in pricing from $1,500 to $18,000. Under Section 179, a purchase will yield savings that run from $525 up to $6,300 per kiosk. The following is an example of tax savings related to the purchase of an INSOMNIAC 570 kiosk. Also illustrated is a case in savings connected with the purchase of the INSOMNIAC ILock System (200 unit doors).

Sec 179 2014

Although it can be used by large businesses, the original intention of including the Section 179 in the recent Stimulus Bills was to be a tax relief and incentive for small businesses. The maximum deduction for 2014 is $25,000, however speculative modifications are being forecasted to raise the incentive up to post-recessional levels of $500,000 to incentivize the storage REIT’s as well.

What’s the point of section 179? The government is trying to stimulate the economy by encouraging business spending. Section 179 is your portion of the government bail-out. But there is a catch. To qualify for the deduction, a kiosk and or locking system must be in operation by the end of the 2014 calendar year. Taking advantage of this tax savings may just be the best financial decision you make in 2014. Only 106 Working Days until Section 179 Deadline… to learn more about Section 179, visit www.section179.org or contact your personal accountant.

OpenTech Acquiring SMS Solution TXTCollector

OpenTech Acquiring SMS Solution TXTCollector

PHOENIX, Arizona – July 17th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. today announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire TXTCollector, from Hub Media Marketing, the makers of Text Messaging software that automates the collections of past due balances in the self-storage marketplace. Terms of the deal, which is the company’s 2nd acquisition in 2014, were undisclosed. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Q3 in 2014.

Text Messaging (SMS) is at the forefront in technology when transmitting payment reminders, past due notices, and or auction alerts to tenants. With eight times the response rate of email, and a much less disruptive experience for the recipient than robo-calls, the collections service has proven to be one of the most reliable and productive methods of communication with tenants.

Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech said, “Our strategy is to grow our company thru internal development, acquisition and partnerships. TXTCollector has a rapidly growing user base because it does not require any manager intervention, it is easily customizable and in many ways performs better than a collections agency. We are excited to add it to our platform and integrate it with the rest of our services. We feel it will be a solid foundation from which to develop new SMS services outside of just collections for the self storage industry.”

OpenTech Selected as Top Company to Work for in Arizona

PHOENIX, Arizona – July 4th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance Inc, today announced that the company was chosen as one of the top employers to work for in the state of Arizona. The awards program, conducted by CareerBuilder (America’s largest online jobsite) and Republic Media (The Arizona Republic Newspaper), was designed to honor the best employers in Arizona that benefit employees. They are working on developing their skills and accomplishing their goals. Our culture is based on Doing It Right and Continuous Improvement which is evident in all of our employee’s behavior. They give it their all because they want to make the life of our customers, and their customers, simpler and less stressful,” smiled Chiti.

Winners were announced at a “Top Companies” breakfast reception June 27th, and the full list and related stories appeared in a special supplement inserted in the June 29th, edition of The Arizona Republic Newspaper and online website at bestcompaniesaz.com.

OpenTech Wins Backing from Former Kiosk Skeptic

PHOENIX, Arizona – May 13th, 2014 –OpenTech Alliance, Inc. today announced that the company earned an important endorsement from Professional Self Storage Management LLC, a leading management company with a portfolio of over 50 self-storage facilities. Former kiosk skeptic, Melvin Holsinger, President of Professional Self Storage Management, has now taken advantage of the surge in technology that is energizing the industry.<

Now a kiosk supporter, the storage icon finds himself a true believer of self-service automation. Holsinger’s company recently ordered seven (7) additional INSOMNIAC™ Kiosks to revamp U Store It Self Storage Centers throughout Texas and Arkansas in addition to Spring Creek Self Storage, a new state-of-the-art facility in Laramie Wyoming. It took time for Holsinger to warm up to a concept that was once feared to depersonalize the customer experience, overcomplicate business operations or replace the human touch.

“Closed signs can be frustrating to many, and are slowly becoming obsolete at a lot of businesses today. The kiosk is simply an extension of office hours and creates a better consumer experience,” stated Holsinger. Storage rental and service procedures are the kind of processes that once established can take years to break, so Holsinger didn’t try to break his values on high-touch personalized service onsite. Still, with more and more storage customers doing business at off peak hours, his clients desired a facility that was open to do business even when their office was closed.

“The kiosk was the most cost effective way to accomplish that,” said Holsinger. Several other paybacks weighed into the decision of buying the kiosks. “There is a competitive advantage when facing a younger generation who is used to using self service automation. The kiosk will generate newfound rentals and enable my clients to hold rate increases to a minimum,” added Holsinger.

“As more and more management companies continue to embrace technology, more and more of their clients will find that they are making their self-storage property more convenient so more people will store with them. No doubt this is just a start, we are happy to see experts in the industry, like Mel, leverage our technology and adopt the benefits of self-service,” said Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech.

OpenTech Adds Second Call Center Location and Offers 24/7 Service

PHOENIX, Arizona – May 6th, 2014 – OpenTech Alliance, Inc. today announced they have extended their call center to the Eastern time-zone and beyond as well as now offer 24/7 service. For the past year they have been building up their remote call center in Dayton, OH, which now consists of over 10 full time Storage Counselors to better service customers in the East and Midwest and provide a valuable level of redundancy for the entire operation. In addition the company is now the only vendor in the industry to offer 24/7 service.

“I guess it is somewhat redundant to say we never rest, with a brand name like INSOMNIAC and the addition of our 24/7 service, but it is true. We are always looking for ways to improve the quality and value of our service for our customers. Our 24/7 strategy is linked with our global vision to offer call center services in other regions of the world. As our customers expand the footprint of their portfolios we want to be there to support them in the regions they are doing business, so we anticipate we will open more remote call centers outside the US in the future,” said Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech.

“The investment we continue to make in our cloud based technology and online training programs are what have made it possible for us to have such a broad vision. We can now not only open up a call center anywhere in the world, we can also open individual call centers in the homes of our employees thru our Work @ Home program,” Chiti added.

OpenTech Starts 2014 with Record-Breaking Quarter

PHOENIX, Arizona – April 16th, 2014 –OpenTech Alliance, Inc. today announced record-breaking sales for the first quarter in 2014. The company’s strong growth was led by an 81% percent increase over the same period last year in INSOMNIAC™ kiosk sales. Overall, OpenTech’s Business Development Team sold more kiosks, INSOMNIAC Live! Call center services and INSOMNIAC Online rental solutions in Q1 than any other quarter since establishing the company in 2003.

“In OpenTech’s early days I was trying to sell a couple of kiosks to an industry veteran in Texas named George Watson. He asked me a question that I never forgot… What percentage of your kiosk sales are repeat business? Watson explained that he wanted to know how many operators had installed a kiosk, then after using it, wanted to buy more. George is a wise man,” said Robert Chiti, President and CEO at OpenTech.

OpenTech reported that during 2013 and Q1 2014, over 40% of their kiosks sales were driven by existing customers. The numbers clearly demonstrate that self storage operators who have already implemented a self service option at their facilities are finding it helps them rent more units and reduce costs. The near 60% of sales that went to new customers indicated that more and more operators are embracing technology and looking for ways to improve the profits of their business.

“I am looking forward to catching up to Mr. Watson at the Texas Self Storage Association conference and tradeshow later this year; because we are ready for him this time,” commented Chiti.
